Escuela Sabastian parade

Suddenly the main street of Banos was lined with a TON of people. Being October and the month when Baños celebrates the Virgin de la agua santa, there are parades every 10 minutes of funky out-of-tune marching bands of men carrying the virgin hoisted on a chair on rods over their shoulders. Not this time. A school was celebrating just being open! The parade was colorful and energetic. Parents dabbing brows, giving emergency drinks of water, stopping in the middle of the street to take photos. All proud and the kids were having a ball. Each grade had their own costume and style of dance.
